For nearly a decade, Top Notch of Indiana – a prominent union construction industry association – has been recognizing construction companies in Indiana who make significant contributions to labor and management relations. This year, Ryan Fireprotection was honored with our first Contractor of the Year Award, for our operational excellence and commitment to the community.
As Dan Ryan, President of Ryan Fireprotection, notes, this award would not have been possible without our nearly 250 dedicated employees. “It is a tremendous honor to be recognized as Contractor of the Year by Top Notch of Indiana. Every Ryan Fireprotection employee contributed to winning this award, through their continued dedication to excellence in fire protection and their tireless commitment to the greater Indianapolis community.”
Top Notch of Indiana is a diverse organization that represents every sector of the union construction industry, and boasts a membership of more than 75,000 union tradesmen and 4,000 union contractors. Top Notch focuses on establishing and maintaining partnerships between construction labor and management.
The ninth annual Top Notch Standards of Excellence award celebration was held on May 17, 2018 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This celebration gave affiliates in the labor, management, leadership, and ownership areas the opportunity to share ideas and successes in a casual and entertaining atmosphere. Ryan’s own Mark Riffey, one of the management representatives on the Top Notch Board of Directors, welcomed guests to the luncheon with the opening introductory speech.
Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett also attended the celebration and noted on Twitter that there’s nothing like the Top Notch Luncheon. “With [Indy 500] practice laps roaring around the track, we gather in the heart of IMS to celebrate the men and women who have built our community from the ground up.”
Alongside other award winners, IBEW 481, Ironworkers Local 22, ERMCO Electric, and more, Ryan Fireprotection takes pride in uniting with other “Top Notch” contractors in the local community. The celebration is the only one of its kind, and brings together members from all areas of the construction industry to network, socialize, and celebrate each other’s successes.
