It has been almost a year since
Ryan Fireprotection acquired Kentuckiana Sprinkler in Louisville, KY, and we are happy to report that the transition is going even better than expected. Ryan has been able to enhance the service offerings to customers throughout southern Indiana, Louisville and surrounding communities in Kentucky by adding Ryan’s well-established design and fabrication services to an already proven team of installers and field techs.
Some of the new projects that Ryan has been working on in the Louisville area include:
Facility Expansion at Clariant Global
Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals for industrial and consumer products, recently expanded its manufacturing facility in Louisville, Kentucky. Included in the $65 million investment was highly-specialized capital equipment to increase Clariant’s production of industrial catalysts used in the chemical and petrochemical industries. Ryan Fireprotection, in partnership with Vulcan Fire Systems, was brought in to design and install multiple special hazard fire protection systems in the new facility.
The installed systems utilize infrared/ultraviolet flame detection for immediate warnings, combined with fire pumps and foam suppression to protect the raw material and finished product inventories. Clean agent fire suppression systems were implemented in critical electrical/mechanical rooms and data processing rooms to protect those high-value assets and maintain operations in the event of a fire.
New Warehouse Facility at Velocity™ 65
Browning Investments is building a mega-sized warehouse and logistics facility in Shepardsville, Kentucky, about 15 miles south of Louisville. Ryan Fireprotection will be installing the fire suppression system for the inaugural 721,000 sq. ft. facility. Velocity™ 65 is a regional logistics and ecommerce park that is currently under construction and is well positioned for growth with proximity to the UPS hub in Louisville and other area manufacturers and logistics companies along the I-65 corridor.
New Warehouse/Distribution Building at Airport Commerce Center
Ryan was brought in to the construction of this 645,000 sq. ft. light industrial project to design and install the fire suppression system in the newest addition to the Louisville Airport Commerce Center, located just south of the airport near the Ford LAP and UPS Worldport locations. Ryan Fireprotection installed a K-22/K-17 Early Suppression, Fast Response (ESFR) storage sprinkler capable of suppressing specific high-challenge fires when protecting high-piled storage of certain specified materials, as well as a special hazards system for the IT server room.
